Although equipment is in good condition, the sand below it is older, somewhat dusty and dirty. 04/15/04 IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM SAN DIEGO PLAYGROUNDS: We received the following via email from a concerned parent, "[T]here is an off leash dog park unfenced directly next to the Tot Lot. This constitutes a danger to any child using the play area. The City needs to fence this dog area and protect the children...dogs "wander" from "their" area and also leave deposits on the turf. I would lobby to have the area fenced." We visited the San Diego Parks & Recreation Website and learned that there is a "dog park" at Cadman Park. But the dogs are allowed to be unleashed only at designated times. The LEASH FREE HOURS are: During the school year: Daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. & 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Summer vacation: Daily 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. & 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There are no leash free hours on July 4th and every Saturday from March 1 to June 15. The Website states the Leash Free Hours are posted at the park as well. If you encounter violations, report them to San Diego City Hall at(619)236-5555.
