Comments:
This park is located across the street from Rotary Park, which has the bandshell. Rotary Park does not have a play structure, this park right accross the street does! You're at the beach so there's plenty of sand--wet & dry--and, of course, the water. There are outdoor showers to wash off sand and the lifeguard & police stations are both very close. A McDonald's take-out stand is located just under the pier's bridge, to use or ignore as you choose. Street parking is metered but free daytime parking is available in lots on both sides of Mission Ave, just East of the railroad tracks (2 blocks from the beach). Bring a wagon or large stroller to easily transport kids & stuff down to the beach via the Pier ramp. There are also several flights of stairs going down at various points along Pacific Street.
Play Equipment:
There are two play structures, one for under fives & one for over fives with swings, slides, & lots of add-ons (wobbly jumping posts, tic-tac-toe, etc).
